Well, I failed

Needless to say I failed that whole "have a new post every day" thing. Things have been beyond hectic though. This feels like the first time I've moved at a normal pace instead of warp speed in a looong time. Plus my free time has been spent making the Christmas list, and you can't say that isn't worthwhile.

So, in new news, the boyfriend is in Vegas/Utah, and now besides the occasional work, I don't have much to preoccupy my time. It's odd how you don't realize how big a part someone plays in their life until they're gone for awhile. I was going to get some Christmas shopping done while he was gone, but everything I got had to be ordered online or didn't come out yet, so that saves me the hassle of traveling to the mall for a bit (thank god).

In more news, Ohio, or at least the part I live in, is in for some supposedly massive snow tonight. We experiencing some lake effect off of Lake Erie, making it even colder here, with predictions of at least 6 inches of snow overnight and more in the morning and afternoon tomorrow. Needless to say I'm so excited I can hardly stand it.

In the sad news department, American's have chosen to be idiots once again and ban gay marriage. This news makes me sad and infuriated all at once. This country is a place where you can choose any religion you want. Christian, Buddhist, Atheist, you name it. But yet when asked why people opposed gay marriage, the only reason they seemed to be able to give was that the Bible said it was wrong, that marriage should be between a man and a woman, blah blah blah. Well, this is all well and good for the people that follow the Bible, but whose to say that everyone in the gay community does? Church should be separate from state, and gay's should be able to marry whatever person they please. If you don't agree with me, that's fine, you're entitled to your own opinions, just as I am mine. But as American's, we are entitled to the pursuit of happiness, and the government should not try to stop us in our pursuit.

So with that note, I conclude my lovely scatter-brained blog, and I hope everyone's pre-holiday season is going well :]

Winterblunderland

As I'm sure everyone is painstakingly aware, the holiday's are coming up. And with the holidays comes great food, fun times with family and friends, and the always welcome presents. Of course, this also means tight jeans, annoying relatives, and a need for more cash. I guess the opposite of the famous saying is true, for every silver lining, there's a cloud.

I want the holiday's this year to be the best. And I already have tons of ideas to make it the best. Limited money however is going to put a damper on it.

This happens every year. I always have the best gift ideas. I can find ten billion things for everyone on my list. Sadly, I never have enough money to make that happen.

So, this year, I'm going to make budget-friendly holiday cheer. How might I do this you ask? Well, I have a few solutions. Instead of splurging on gifts for everyone and worrying about spending what amount on what person, I'm going to limit the money I spend on gifts and give them some sweet treats on the side, like cookies, cakes, yada yada. Actually, I just found a great book today that shows you how to make cheap but cute food on the holidays. I can't wait to get to the baking/cooking extravaganza.

Happy late Halloween and early Christmas to everyone! :P
